This involved a short christmassy dvd inside our classroom that was completely blacked out except the 6x christmas lights (thanks Paris!). Around the walls were large paintings of the nativity scene, santa and his sleigh as well as the reindeer and some elves. We made a christmas tree from toitoi 'flowers'and decorated it as well as put up another christmas tree.
Some of our boys also made rice crackles to give to all 164 children in the school. Ms D also made lots of shortbread that some of our girls iced. Everyone in the school got a small christmas decorated brown paper bag that contained the rice crackle and the shortbread.
It was a great experience and the Kakapo kids worked really well independetly for most of the week.
