Mufti Day for Christchurch

We are currently constructing a "wallwisher" wall where our class will leave messages for the people of Christchurch. We hope to send the link of our Wallwisher wall to some schools in Christchurch who have been affected by the quake. We also hope that they will see this short video that we have made......
Thanks for taking time to check out the blog, make sure you leave a comment.....

The total amount our school raised for the people of Christchurch was more than $500

Smoking Sucks!

Today, as part of our DARE programme we looked at the thousands of chemicals contained in a cigarette.

Snr Constable Blue showed us how a bottle could smoke a cigarette.

The bottle had a small hole in its lid through which went a tube. At one end of the tube was a cigarette and at the other end inside the bottle was a cotton ball. After the cigarette was lit Blue squeezed the bottle repeatedly to show the action of lungs inhaling and exhaling the smoke from a cigarette.  Blue then showed us the amount of tar collected on the cotton ball. There was a huge amount and that was after only one cigarette!
(Photos of Snr Constable Blue talking to Kakapo and showing the tar inside the cotton ball.)

A: Three months and before that I was a graphic designer, personal assistant/administrator.

Q: What made you come to our school?
A: I know Mrs Whalen and it’s a really well renowned school.

Q: Have you noticed any differences about New Zealand schools and South African schools?
A: Yes, you have computers in the classroom for one, which is very nice.

Q: Why did you decide to come to New Zealand?
A: I married a New Zealand man.

Q: How long have you been in New Zealand for?
A: Two and a half years.

Q: When you were younger what job did you want to do?
A: I wanted to be photographer/nature photography.

Q: The reason why you changed your mind?
